Lemon cake

A cake is created...

One day we came across a recipe for lemon cake in Isabella's(magazine). It was tested at home but not approved. The receipe contained poppy seeds. It actually tasted very good but we quickly agreed that poppy seeds stay in the teeth and no one seems particularly flattering to wear them. Therefore, we decided to deleted them from the recipe immediately.

With us, it is important for a cake to stay fresh. It must be able to withstand being frozen,thawed and stand for half an hour without being dry. Therefore, we also choose to add a litlle lemon juice.

Some would probably think that it is easier to order cakes and pastries but we like to add a personal touch to things. We also take pride in serving something we have made and creating a homely cozy atmosphere.

175 grams soft butter

200 grams of sugar

3  eggs

200 grams of wheat flour

50 grams of almond flour

1 teaspoon of vanilla sugar

1,5 teaspoon of baking powder

juice of half a lemon 

grated shell of 1 unsprayed lemon

1/4 teaspoon of salt

It's time for creation:

In a large bowl,using an electric mixer,mix the soft butter and sugar until became light and fluffy. Add the eggs one at the time,then add the juice and the grated shell from the lemon .

In a separate bowl put the wheat flour,almond flour,vanilla sugar,baking powder and the salt and mix. Slowly add the flour mixture into the egg mixture and combine well.

Bake in a 30x22 cm mold at 175 degrees,regular oven for approx. 25 minutes.

Tip! Decorate the cake with lemon glaze which highlights the delicious taste of lemon even more. The cake can easily carry it.


100 g caster sugar

2 tablespoons of lemon juice

A little boiling water

Mix the ingredients togheter and put the glaze over the warm cake. Let it sit before serving the cake.
