An old radio and pictures create atmosphere
Create a cozy atmosphere
Our old grandmother and great-grandmother had a lot of interesting things in the attic and in the barn. Some of it we made a big flea market out of, but some we also kept, and it has helped to add a bit of interest to the rooms. We have especially enjoyed the old books that decorate many of the rooms. Some of the books are from my grandfather's school days, which were during World War I, when all teaching here in Southern Jutland was in German. The beautiful corner cabinet is from my grandmother and grandfather's dining room, so it has a bit of patina from the time when they only heated the living rooms a few hours before they were to be used.
But I have also been lucky enough to find a few things around flea markets and second-hand shops. The old radio, the Poul Hartling piggy bank and the old picture in the living room are just some of the things that have been found. But the old glasses that are on the window sills around the rooms have also been found in second-hand shops and actually a very special one of a kind. In Helved (yes, not Helvede, but the small town here on Als, mind you) there is a relatively large second-hand shop “Hørup Genbrugsbutik”. It is run by volunteers and not affiliated with any organization. Yet every year it gives money to different things in the local area. I think it is a lovely idea, and that is why I really like to support them. And fortunately I am not the only one who likes to stop by every now and then to just have a look.
On an old farm like Rønhave, it is important that the exterior and interior harmonize and do not run in different directions. At the same time, it should have charm, function in everyday life and have a beautiful detail. The old radio can do something, and many of our lovely guests have also noticed it and our Poul Hartling money box (although I am not old enough to remember him, I know that he was prime minister. “And when was that?” 😉 The answer is 1973 to 1975). But they can do something, as you just know when you see them on your treasure hunts.
Go Green
The road to sustainable tourism
We are constantly evolving at Green Glamping and we are about to be ready to share all the things we do on a daily basis to ensure that we as an accommodation take the best possible care of the surroundings that we love so much.
Many of the things we have done since we started Rønhave Bed & Breakfast in June 2011, we have never thought were a necessary part of our branding, but simply something that was common sense. However, we have learned in recent years that we may need to remember to inform a little more about what we think is important and why we want to be as sustainable as possible and improve ourselves more and more in that area.
Camping with glamour
in beautiful surroundings
In the middle of Rønhave's old apple orchard, the wind whistles through the trees in a very special way... There is no speed out here - here we breathe in time with nature. Take your loved one by the hand and experience Green Glamping in safe and authentic surroundings. We value good quality - this is seen in our service, our Danish and locally produced raw materials and our respect for people, on an equal footing with the planet. Green Glamping is an attempt to bring people closer to themselves and to each other.
Welcome to an old farm, with beautiful surroundings, a long history and where we give space to nature and tranquility....
